Achievements and Metrics

  • Offered therapy to 400 children with disabilities every year
  • Trained caregivers on disability on basic knowledge on disability rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities and offer psychosocial support
  • Collaborated with different hospitals for various specialized treatment of CWDs
  • Supported 140 learners in education (primary secondary, tertially and apprenticeship  annually
  • Supported 40 households with livelihood projects annually
  • Worked with 110 Disability Resource Persons who identifies and referred cases in need of intervention.
  • Networked with various stakeholders county government of Nyandarua /Laikipia,
  • Trained and sensitized children /youth with disabilities on various advocacy issues ( participation in governance processes, applicable laws and policies
  • Conducted awareness to churches,public and through media, on inclusion and right of PWDs.

Projects and Activities

  • Offer therapy to 400 CWDS in 2 main gyms and 12 sub centres
  • Offer psychosocial support to caregivers
  • Train caregivers on basic knowledge on disabilities rights, intellectual disabilities and inclusion of PWDs 
  • Engage core members in hospitality programme 
  • Mark special disability day in the community to create awareness on education for learners 
  • Hold meetings with caregivers and guardians to stream education and progression of LSN 
  • Facilitate partial school fees to support 130 learners (100 primaries 16 secondary 14 tertiary
  • Train 60 households on sustainable livelihoods business literacy, entrepreneurship climate change and Saving. 
  • Issue household’s empowerment projects to 40 households of PWDs 
  • Link groups to micro-credit entities and government social services
  • Create 4 awareness to 200 PWDs & caregivers on existing social service programmes relevant to households PWDs.
  • Engage 3 duty bearers on social protection gaps for PWDs per quarter.
  • Training 110 Disability Inclusion Agents/Disability Resource Persons on lobbying and advocacy, rights and needs of PWDs.
  • Expose  employers to PWDs working in L’Arche and other workplaces annually.
  • Formation and accompaniment of 6 groups living the mission of L’Arche.
  • Invite  religious leaders to support the mission of L’Arche.
  • Conduct  awareness creation on the rights and needs of PWDs through mass media (4 radio session and 1 social media live campaign)
  • Mark 3 special disability days with involvement of stakeholders and collaborators annually. (Epilepsy, Down syndrome and International day for PWDs)
  • Hold meetings and maintain contact with solidarity groups (ambassadors and youth groups).
  • Organize guardians 3 meetings and annual Thanksgiving Day.
  • Induct 10 collaborators on the mission of L’Arche and disabilities. 
  • Organize symposiums and learning forums with collaborators and stakeholders.
