Effatha Home

Programme Overview

Effatha Home , the first home of L’Arche Kenya was started to respond to the needs of people with disabilities who were not well involved in their homes and communities. Thus, it is a model home where one can experience what it means to live together while including people with intellectual disabilities in their life’s decisions. We have six adults with intellectual disabilities (core members) and six without disabilities (assistants) living together. It is in Asian quarters-Nyahururu in Laikipia county-just a walking distance to the famous Thompson falls.
